1. Look at the number of the place you "round nearest to"

ex. 21 566 310. 12

round to nearest one thousand

2. Look at the number to the NEXT right of the number to round

3. a) If the NEXT RIGHT number is <5 then the rounded numbers stays the same

b) If the NEXT RIGHT numbers is > or = to five, the rounded number + 1
